This morning I can't even get into the barn from the yard to feed the boys, and I've had to take haylage in through the back door, which is thankfully completely clear, though a tought trip with a full bale in a wheelbarrow in the strength of the wind out there.
The drift in the yard is now about six feet high. There are five foot drifts inside the barn and inside their stables. I'll get you some photos later!

Oh my goodness!! Hope that back door stays clear. Otherwise it's going to be a miserable time trying to shovel your way in.
ReplyDeleteGlad the Boys are safe inside.
Once again, do take care. Hope the storm lets up really soon!!!!
I have been extremely lucky with the wind direction Jean, the back door is being swept completely clear of snow but the front is now too deep to even consider clearing it when the back is free.

Its surely got to end soon!. We braved round the village just to check Jensen was sound and were perished by the time we got back.
ReplyDeleteNot this week, by the forecast Lynda. We'll be into April before it warms up, I think.

we are really lucky up here (so far, touch wood) cold and windy but minimal snow..... glad you've got some access to the barn.... nightmare for you...
ReplyDeleteGood exercise Claire :-)

It's going to take a while to melt that much snow but, theoretically, it's spring so hopefully it will be gone sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteI had a slippy slidy drive to the barn today but the roads were much better on the way home. I suppose you are playing it smart and staying home in this weather. Sounds like it's hard enough getting to your barn, let alone trying to drive through the snow.
The stuff from February hasn't all melted yet, goodness only knows when this lot will disappear.
