We walked out yesterday across the fields, and this was the state of the road that we live on. I am standing very close to the drift and I reach up to 7 foot 6. I look like I am about to rob a bank, because it was impossible to go out into the wind chill without a full face cover.
I don't think we'll be going anywhere for a few days without the pickup truck, and neither will Woody for a while yet, which is no problem. My mind is settled about him, it is only a question of when the road is clear enough for Mark to get in.
We can, thankfully, get the pickup out over the fields too. We have dug away six feet of snow from our gateway this morning and when we have recovered from that we have another big drift in one more gateway to dig through and then we can drive out onto a clear-ish road. Thankfully, Toyota Hilux pickups with snow tyres on are the most superb off-road and snow vehicles.
So, loins girded, off we go!

That is going to take some work to clear! Haven't had snow like that in a while here, thank goodness. But time to bless the tractor with the front end loader once again. It would be my savior in your situation.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you have heat, food, and enough to care for the horses and kitties, then all is well. Spring will come...eventually. *sigh*
