Ten minutes and all's well.

Today I got on Ace at the bottom of the hill, where I had to use a bank facing towards home. I then had to turn away from home,  which he resisted quite a lot but gave in with good grace. I hacked out along the flat bit, and he offered two bits of an extremely bouncy trot!  I only let him do a few yards, but my head was rattling on the clouds.

When he had got back to the bottom of the hill again he felt tired, so I'll be keeping sessions short until he has the strength to carry twelve stone of me, clothes and saddle for a longer time.

There was no irritation of any kind shown today with being tacked up or ridden. I really do think he may be cured. Tomorrow I will ride him on the arena, which will be a big test.

I didn't hunt today because of the weather, so Radar lunged himself instead. After that the arena needed fifteen minutes of attention to put all the divots back from the motorcycle wall of death circus act that he performed for my amusement.  He did a few miles :-) !!

  1. Your smile must really be beaming by now. Every day brings better and better news. Once again, I'm looking forward to the arena report. If a few trot strides were that amazing, we can only imagine what it will feel like to take a few more.

As for Radar--once again, what a character. Harness that energy for a perpetual motion machine. *lol*

  2. At one point I wrapped the lunge line behind my back to try to slow down the canter by bringing the circle smaller, Jean. He just pee'd off back to his stable!!

  4. Good question Lynda! I was looking at them today. I think perhaps after a month when he has shown no sign of pain. I might give one a try. Who's betting what the outcome all be?????
