All of Ace's staples now look ready to come out, with the wounds underneath fully healed. But I have erred on the side of caution and left the middle ones in for one more day.
He is now walking nearly three miles up and down hill and his footfall is completely regular, without any missteps. I have been able to start massaging the strip of muscle down the side of his spine. Understandably, it's currently pretty tense, but I think I can work on that now because he is not at all resentful of me doing it.
He's just a dope on a rope now, character wise. He's so quiet!! You would never believe that he is a horse who has been confined for nearly two weeks now. I wonder if this is his real no-pain personality?
I have to pack the lorry later - hunting tomorrow!

I hope Mary Lou is OK I have just seen the most horrific scenes of floods in Colorado. I can't find her email address either, my machine has deleted them all.

Mary Lou posted on Facebook yesterday. I think things are OK where she is. I will send you her email. And I will try to contact her as well.
ReplyDeleteMore good news about Ace, that's for sure. It would be great if "laid back" is his real personality.
Go out and enjoy that hunt. I'm sure Radar will!
i know, just posted to facebook myself about that, as jean says, she was ok yesterday but... looks awful.
ReplyDeletegood news on the Ace front
I just sent you an email Caroline. We are fine here at the house for the most part, but things are not so good for many others. We just got an emergency call that the water is not safe to drink, however we are in a small pocket of a different water district so ok at least for now. Everything is uncertain...
ReplyDeleteWhew, we were all worried about you there ML
