Bonus day.

Bonus!

The horse the day before Ace has had their operation cancelled and he now goes to hospital on Monday 2nd September. That's only just over a week away.

The vet agrees no Bute before then, so we are all set speeding towards a solution, hopefully.

I'm thinking of taking radar to the farm ride tomorrow before it really hots up at the weekend. Then again on the Monday when Ace goes. It's lucky it's the same place isn't it?

Then his jumping muscles will all be primed for the first meet of the season.  What a nice reward that will be for the stresses of Ace earlier in the week.

Eleven days. :-)

  1. April??? I think you mean September? A bit confused here.

Anyhoo...good news indeed. Glad the vet agrees about the Bute.

And what a treat for both you and Radar! Preview of what promises to be a wonderful hunting season.

  2. Wow, that's a lucky break! It can't come too soon, now that you are sure what needs to be done. Then, finally, you can start recovery.

Have great fun at the farm ride! Radar will be enthusiastic, of that I am sure. What are you using for a bit these days on him?

  3. OOOPS. Corrected Jean, thanks :-)

Radar does everything at home in a Pelham with roundings and one rein, and he'll hunt in a cast aluminium mikmar that I can turn him and stop him with when he's gone hyper ML :-)

  4. I love a pelham with roundings - so effective and uncomplicated to use.

    What's a mikmar?

    1. This, but he hates nose pressure so I don't use the string, and I use a proper curb chain. Because it is so rigid it is easier to steer him. It's the best compromise I can find between controlling him and him damaging his mouth.
