We went anyway.

I wasn't really fit enough but it has to be done if he is to recover fully, so I took Woody out for a hack. I struggle to describe how difficult and conflicting it is to rehab a horse who is sure that his feet are going to be sore just because it is sub zero. Minus 2, to be precise.   I tested him on my bit of rubble car park at the Picnic area and he really was fine. But on the road he was tippy toeing along expecting pain at any moment. Finally, about 1/3 of teh way back home, he gave it up and relaxed into a very nice walk. So I was rassured by that.

His issues with his mouth are also much improved. He has completely given up the "don't touch my mouth"  protests and gave me a really nice contact forward onto the bit quite a lot of the time today.

Everything is heading very much in the right direction and if the weather is OK we are ready to see what he jumps like on the farm ride. I will have SH there with the camera, don't worry :-)

Must go, just having a coughing fit.
