Please let this end.

I did manage to force myself to ride one horse yesterday but it blew me apart for the rest of the day. I am not riding today, and I hope to be well enough tomorrow to give Radar a proper outing.

Woody went out for a hack yesterday, because the last thing he needs now at this stage in his rehab is to have a break in his work.

He found out just what a bad idea it is to start arguing about whether you will or will not accept a contact just before you are going to arrive back home. He gave himself another half mile of work until he understood that we go in the gate when       say so and not when he wants to.  As a bonus, it means that he has to do a dozen or more tight turns in the road, which would cripple him if there was any evidence of continuing collateral ligament strain. There is none, he is a solid as a rock on the turns.

His feet are interesting at the moment. Remember I told you that he could not reduce the height of his heels to where they needed to be because his frogs were too thick? Well, he is shedding a very thick layer off the top of all four frogs, and what is underneath is smooth and very densely packed, just as it ought to be. When the top layer is gone, his heels should  then reduce in height and correct the faulty broken-forward hoof pastern axis that he currently has.

In spite of the fact that his feet are still far from a finished article, his sashay across the yard this morning was a slinky, sinuous joy to behold.

If I am well enough (and I intend to drug myself to the eyeballs with anything legal to ensure that I am) and if the weather is OK, then we will be plaiting up to go to the meet on Saturday. What a landmark! WPO intends to meet us there so we can all have a drink in celebration of his marvellous progress.

  1. It would have helped a little if Woody had been more cooperative so you could have had an easier ride. *sigh* But, you managed to get him settled about it all, so perhaps the next time out he won't be so contrary about expressing his opinion. I suspect he is a fast learner.

Glad to hear those feet are adjusting so well. It will be nice to see some proper angles.
