Whooping cough. WHOOPING COUGH!!!! For goodness sake!
All thanks to that stupid doctor who linked the MMR vaccination with autism with faked evidence, and scared parent off all childhood vaccines, and removed the herd immunity to whooping cough in this country. Thanks!
SH got it first and then shared it with me, bless him. We were both innoculated as babies but it's worn off in people of our age. It's a killer of a cough and it can last 3 months. They also call it the 100 day cough, for that reason. Wonderful. Only another 90 days to go then.
Needless to say I did not hunt today, but since it rained all night and hailed all morning I really don't think I've missed much. No-one's going to get ridden either, I'm spending the day tucked up warm.

Oh no, that's no fun at all! Hope yours doesn't last the 100 days. How long do they think the immunity from childhood lasts? Have they vaccinated you again now? I got vaccinated for it again last month as I've a baby due at the end of this month so I've been topped up.

ReplyDeleteExactly what happened to our kids when they were in high school! There is a pool of kids in Boulder County whose parents think they don't need to be immunized, thus the disease persists. Our kids were immunized as babies too but it wears off and they caught it as teenagers. Sam, our 25 year old, really did cough for 100 days. It was awful. You poor thing!
