I made a decision to take away the blue barrels until after Ace's operation. Every time he went up the side where they used to be, he was looking for them so he could have an excuse to mess about. He's a complete fraud, all they ever were was an excuse!
On the plus side, I could feel the difference in the walk that I saw when I turned them out last night. I wonder how much longer his paces will continue to improve? It must stop some time.

Now, they are the spooky invisible barrels?? Horses never cease to amaze me with their creative minds.
ReplyDeleteSooner or later Ace's gaits will have to stop improving. Otherwise in one stride he'd be over here visiting my Boys. *G* Once again, I am delighted to hear such good news.
Well that would be a cheap way for me to visit you Jean :-)
DeleteHe was so funny at the non-barrels - he started to tense exactly as if they were there, increasing the tension as he passed invisible 1, then 2, 3 and 4. But there was simply no reason for it and he had to concede that he couldn't find any reason to edge out or spook or spin. It was really nice to ride without the spooking and will give us the best chance to get him well fit before the operation with least risk of him hurting himself afterwards.
Can't you tell that I am on a proper keyboard here but I posted using touchscreen predictive text? I touch type much better on proper keys!

ReplyDeletepredictive text is so random in its results...
I loathe it! Though sometimes it can be very funny :-)
