Ace has definitely increased in bendyness and his back is spongier than it has ever been. He's always been a tail flasher, even in the video from before I bought him. My money's on that being related to his back and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it stops when he is pain free.
I lunged him today and he was still looking over his shoulder at his back so I have held off riding until tomorrow.
Meanwhile Radar and I had a fabulous hack before it got too hot. He was a very cheeky boy, very bouncy and keen to move. He had a nice bath when he got home, then a good old roll , and then he strolled over and peed long and hard into one of the two piles of hay, turned and looked at Ace and said 'eat that if you can, sucker!'
What a wicked boy!!
I'm excited and nervous about riding Ace tomorrow.

I hate that when the horse pees on the fresh hay I put down. Such a waste. Actually, I think they do it because that way it doesn't splash back up on them because the hay absorbs it.

I washed it and put it back! It was already soaked in eater overnight so it worked quite well.
