Oooh, that's not as well as it was!

This is what a telephone base unit that has been  hit by lightening looks like :-)  That circuit board should all be green. The black bit is soot!

The BT men confirmed that next time there is a lightening strike, which can happen any time, we will lose our phone and broadband for a very long time while they dig up the road and recable the whole area. We simply can't risk that, so SH is right at this moment fitting a satellite dish to the house to provide us with satellite broadband.  We have a mobile signal at the house, so phone is not so much of an issue.
