Ooh err, it's very big!

Cor blimey, but it's big. I'm not sure whether you get the sheer scale of it in the picture, but it's a bit stunning in real life. He's worked all day from 7 this morning and he hasn't stopped yet. It's nearly 7 now.

Jazz is a bit bemused by all the disruption but a few years ago he would have had a nervous breakdown by now. This morning the other two put themselves into their stables but he came half way across the yard, looked at the motorhome, roller, membrane rolls etc and gently turned around and put himself back in the barn. I went in with him, and he walked out with me by his side to give him support. It was so sweet.

We had a nice hack in the astonishing summer weather - well se could hardly school between the diggers, could we? The temperature got into the 30's, which is higher than it's been all year! Because it is forecast to be about the same tomorrow, I have given Radar his first ever full hunter clip. I thought that there was a serious danger that if I went galloping around on a black horse in a nearly full coat in that weather, I could overheat him to danger point. I reckoned it was better for him to be too cold later in October than dead on the first of the month :-0 !

  1. Wow, that IS big! Did you need to get planning permission for it?

  2. Shhhhhhhh!

I had consent for the 20x40 that was there, and as far as the planners are concerned it's being drained and relaid. Purely by accident it will become half as big again, but it's hidden behind the buildings and can't be seen. It would be a pure formality to get it, but it would take three months and cost several hundred pounds, so it has slipped my mind to ask for it, sorry.

  4. You are going to be so happy with the extra space. Nice going on that size--just like it was before....*G*

Good idea to clip Radar. When I used to clip for the winter, my horses were just fine with winter blankets and they were on all day turnout. He will do well, I am sure.
