I have officially gone mad.

I've gone doolally. I have done something so unlike me I don't recognise myself. I've just ordered a 40m x30m top quality all-weather fibre arena. Crumbs...

I'm feeling quite faint now, I must go and rest.

  1. Hilarious - you ARE a dressage diva now, its official.

Cough Cough, I got 29 for my second event with my freebie mare yesterday, many 8s and a 9 for one canter move - I'm considering doing some british dressage with her next year, she's floating.

  2. I paid a fortune for mine and your freebie gets better scores :-) Well done!

  4. I shall not make a mocking comment...I shall not...I shall not....This is hard...I shall not....*lol*

Face it. You and your horses deserve some super footing and a proper place to school. Well done.

  5. Wow! But really - it's a necessity if you live where you do with all that rain. And footing is soooo important. I hope your rest included a glass of wine.

I know the feeling of having a full strength SH back. While this recent injury of Dave's was only a collarbone, it's taken him 12 weeks and now he seems fully there. Remember when we were in England and he had massive PE's from a bike crash? So your SH's recovery is understood from this perspective.

  6. That sounds great, can't wait to see the pictures of it being built. Ace will be a happy boy ....

  7. Your restraint was admirable Jean :-)

Sarah do you think I need a mirror surrounded by lights to put my make-up on before I ride? (ps I don't wear any!)

Yes, he really hurt himself didn't he ML. I had forgotten that. I'm glad he's back to form now.

It's Ace's fault Tracey. Every time he goes to Beaver Hall to compete he moves completely differerntly from how he does at home when he gets that fibre under his feet. And of course he hates working indoors as you know. That, and the fact that I could so easily have lost Allan, made me realise that I was silly not to have a decent drained arena while I am still young enough to use it properly.

  8. So Ace is also a Diva Huh? Tee hee, I think its fantastic, why not indulge yourselves. It does make a difference, I use a variety of arenas in my lessons, and the one my horse loves best has what I can only describe as a mixture of rubber, sand and felty type carpety bits mixed in - lord knows what its called, but it rides beautifully.

Freebie goes ace on any surface, she was blessed with fabulous feet and in built springs :-) My scores will change once I do proper dressage Caroline, but I'm gonna give it a go :-)

  9. That shredded carpet surface is everywhere we compete. It rides really well, doesn't it. My fibre will hopefully mat like it, but is cheaper.

I am receiving quotes today which are all 20% more expensive, or more, than the one I have already accepted. I am really happy about that, especially as he has already built two for my friend and his work is perfectionist, to say the least. Obsessive/compulsive if I was to be rude !

  11. Apart from his price, it's why I chose him! I would have paid more to get his attention to the tiniest detail. He doesn't want to drive lorries through the stable yard and dump directly on the surface like the others, he wants it in the main yard and to carry it in one tractor bucketful at a time to mix as he goes. That's my kind of arena man!
