Spring? Maybe?

It is a lovely day today, cool but much warmer than it has been, with a bright sky and no wind. Ace and I have had a lovely long hack, the furthest we have ever been. He turned for home a couple of times, for which he got  a wallop as he was just being nappy. The rest of the time he was alert and a bit jumpy, but my policy of letting him work things out for himself was 100% successful.

Now, the car.......

Crikey what a saga this turns out to be. The dealer has agreed to keep the gold one until the end of June when he can give us the V5. But he is clearly extremely embarrassed to have been caught out asking us to do something illegal and has spent  a lot of time trying to find a replacement from somewhere else in the country. So he offered us immediate delivery on an even higher spec car for a few hundred more, which was for things that we intended to add in any case, like the spare tyre kit. BUT.... it was beige. I don't care what fancy name that they had for it, it was beige. It was the last colour in the whole world that I would have chosen, and since it's an awful lot of money to spend, I didn't want to walk out past it every morning thinking 'I never wanted that colour' so we said 'no thanks, we'll wait for the gold one'.

So then he pulled another one out of the bag. A metallic dark red, my number one colour choice! And this one is a higher spec again and has automatic driver position adjustment. That  means when you get in, you press a button and everything sets to where you want it. We've had this once before on a company car and it was absolutely brilliant. It means when two of you share a car you are not forever fiddling with things to put it back the way you want it.

We said yes immediately, it's our dream car. It's currently on a ship due to dock in 5 or 6 days, and will take another few days to get ready for sale and to register - to us of course.

This is a truly spectacular deal and now all we have to do is keep our fingers crossed the ship stays afloat :-) !!
