I bought Buttie bighead a pony size muzzle yesterday. Not a Shetland one, a Pony one. It's too small! His nose goes in but it would cause sores further up if when he opens his mouth, it's too tight.

ReplyDeleteMy ponies (11.2hh ish) are in cob size grazing muzzles, I no they are supposed to cut down the grazing but not by clamping their jaws together!
I feel so ashamed ... me? ..... bling? It's just that it will look so spectacular on his broad dark brown forehead, I know it will. Anyway, I had to buy a bridle for it to go on of course, because I can't use it for everyday. Now I need a second bit, so I don't have to change that over when we go out in public. Comfort spending anyone???

Sarah I don't know whether to get a cob one, or stick with the full size. It is, just about, big enough for him to try and put a foot in it, but would he?? He doesn't try to get it off at all as far as I have seen. I suppose I could buy a cob one and keep the full for a spare in case he does break it. That might make sense and be easier than asking for a refund.
