It's a nasty autumn evening outside and I have ridden Ace and Jazz indoors, the first time of many over the coming winter of course. Ace does not like the lack of space indoors and he makes that perfectly plain. He is sulky and unwilling and has to be nagged to release his back, but we did a good session in mostly walk, which will have done his score for submission some good.
The barn happens to be exactly the size and shape of the shoulder-in-to-half-pass which is in Jazz's test on Wedenesday, so guess what we were doing? Again, being indoors cramped his style a bit and I did resort to the Liverpool so that he could not use the lack of space to set on me, because the distance is not enough to unlock him in if he does. So we got a good couple of attempts at half pass left trot and canter, which I was pleased with.
Now I must go and do our entry for Wednesday.

Autumn is definitely here isn't it... took my shetland to a local show today and I now have red cheeks from wind burn. They had a have-a-go trec course which he thought was super fun.
ReplyDeletePoor Ace, he will have to get used to working in the barn!
:-)
He hates it Sarah!
