Things are going a lot better! After a point yesterday for Jazz, BT have the line back on today, Allan's angiogram records have been found and after much hassling we have our next appointment with the consultant on Tuesday, though we still have no idea of a date for the operation. After this is over we are going to write a report explaining how incredibly stressful their lack of process and documentation has made life for us, quite unnecessarily. We'd do it before, but it really isn't wise to upset the man who will be responsible for re-starting your heart in a couple of weeks time, is it :-) ?
I didn't ride today. Jazz deserved a day off, I am still amazed at just how well he behaved. I am beginning to wonder if we should take him out and see if he would enjoy jumping now he is growing up, what do you think?
Ace hacked out yesterday and as usual struggled up the last hill because it is so steep, so I never feel he "needs" riding after a hack day. We are planning his first outing in company next Wednesday - just to see how he works in a warm-up with other people around. I will do a prelim too if he is settled enough, just to show him the white boards and the judge's box.
Radar is "laid off" though I have my doubts about whether he is enjoying the rest. He just seems to be wondering why he isn't doing more.
Your comments of support have been really great, thanks everyone, it did help and is still helping.

So glad to hear things are sounding more positive.
ReplyDeleteAs to taking Jazz jumping, that depends of whether you think you'd enjoy taking him jumping to see what happens, or has your buzz for it (aside from in a hunting context) gone? Might be interesting but if he decides it is all too stressful would it set back his going out and enjoying dressage?
It would be a shame to set the dressage back just to find out he jumps, wouldn't it? I don't need him to. Perhaps I'll forget about it.

Good news about the records showing up and I agree time to complain is when everything is over and Alan is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteOh go on take Jazz jumping if you get there and he cant cope just bring hime home again. It might sweetend him up and improve the dressage. Radar will settle soon enough once the grass comes through he might just think that Ace is taking some attention from him lol
Any more news on Allan's hospital date yet?
