Woody is such a funny character! I was trying to ask him to walk home with his back free but he kept wriggling back underneath me and putting me too far forward, which makes him stiff. So I sent him on into a jog and then asked him to walk. Eventually he got so annoyed he stopped dead and said "I am not moving until you stop telling me what to do!!!"  I sat and waited and he started smacking a front foot into the road as hard as he possibly could - a real hammering. I slapped him down the shoulder to stop him, so he walked backwards up the bank. All this time, he has as much rein as he wants to go forwards into, but he just won't take it, he wants to curl back into a little ball . Funnily enough, when I turned him away from home and told him he wasn't going to get home until he behaved, he did some lovely walk. Odd that, eh  :-) ????  Funny boy!

Radar has suddenly produced a trot with such punch, elevation and cadence that it is truly dressage class. When he masters the trot canter transition to go with it, he'll be a dressage diva too! Well I never.

I fiddled with light settings today but after four days in a row, Ace had the day off. He'll work tomorrow.

  1. You have quite a cast of characters in that little herd of yours.

Tucker throws little tantrums like Woody and simply stops going forward if I press him too much about an issue. No rein and still no go. Frustrating, but amusing in its way.

Radar the dressage horse--just a dream a year or so ago. Well done.

  2. Radar only took three and a half years to get the point Jean :-) But that trot was real class!
