Congratulations are due to Woody today! He has been promoted :-) He was as sound as a bell on the lunge for the third time in a row after increasingly taxing hacks the day before. So now he starts doing circles and cantering in the school like a real horse. I have a feeling that he isn't going to be that chuffed about it. I'm not sure that moving off my leg, circling, stopping & starting are actually going to be "his thing" but I'm afraid that he will need to understand that horses who live here go to school regularly!
I schooled Ace indoors today because I didn't fancy being out in the wind. The difference between "I'm in pain" and "I'm an opinionated teenage boy" are now totally obvious. He was relaxed through the back right from the start. At one point he got cross about me wanting a leg yield and stopping him from going forwards until he agreed to move sideways as well. He threw a buck, but it bore no relationship to the bucking he does when his back hurts. It was just silliness and I laughed at him and sent him on and sideways. We've had the lamps up for exactly a week now and there is no sign of the effect wearing off, in fact he gets more and more relaxed about me getting on the longer it goes on that his back does not hurt.
I am looking forward to tomorrow and schooling Woody for the first time, after which we plan to take Radar to the farm ride to make up for not getting some decent canter exercise out hunting last Saturday. I wonder what tomorrow's blog is going to say?

And will Radar the Magnificent get in the good gallop with some super jumps he so loves?
And will Ace finally admit he would really prefer a holiday in Hawaii?

This did make me laugh Jean! Ace has been talking to Radar. Radar has told him that Zippy lives in Tenerife and now Ace won't shut up about it. I'm gonna have words with that Radar!
