So Radar and I were beating our way through the rain and hail and 10c temperatures to get some exercise under our belts, wondering where summer went. I still enjoyed it though, he is fit and keen and it is so nice to be on a forward thinking horse. We passed a field full of alpacas today, which he has never seen before. They are such lovely looking creatures! It's those huge eyes, long eyelashes, furry topknots, long ears and bunny rabbit noses. They do it for me every time :-) They were a lot more interested in Radar than he was in them, lining up by the fence to watch him walk past.
Ace is a lot better. Another couple of days and I suspect he may be back in work. The heat is going, and the splint bone is less prominent, so the inflammation behind it, which is creating bone to "glue" it to his cannon bone must have reduced a lot. He's nearly sound, judging from how he trotted in to get his breakfast, though of course that could just have been his stomach talking!
I was due to go to a dressage event with him tomorrow but judging from tonight's weather we won't be missing much.

Chilly here too, but not that cold! Aren't we going to get an autumn? Hope the weather is good for hunting, however. Radar seems prepped and eager to go.
