I didn't wanna do it.
He didn't wanna do it.
Neither of us wanted to do it, but if by some chance we get a hunt this Saturday then I would never forgive myself if I took an unfit horse and he pulled a tendon.
So on went the coat. On went the ear-cover scarf. On went the waterproof trousers. With a huge struggle the waterproof gloves went onto already damp and cold hands. And off we set.
I can't say that either of us enjoyed ourselves, it was cold and it was wet, but we both felt a tremendous sense of self-satisfaction at having got out.
I had a little giggle today too. I bought a cheap rasp off eBay to see if I really need to spend nearly £20 a rasp from a farriery supply shop to replace my one which is getting blunt. I tried it today. It was already blunter than the one I was trying to replace with it :-) I guess the answer is "no" then??? (Tracey/Barefoot Basics if you want to quote me for a box of 6 Save Edge delivered, please do! I don't really want to drive to Middlewich but I can get a box there for £103).
I'm off out now to rescue the poor drowned creatures.

Ah, good for you. Usually, once you get ready and out there it's not as bad as anticipated. And now you're done, hopefully you have had a long soak in a hot tub (well I mean bathtub not a "hot tub").
ReplyDeleteYou'll be proud of me ML, I got on the treadmill for three miles instead!
DeleteThen we went to see The Artist, a new silent movie - is it being shown over there, it's lovely.

I agree with MaryLou about the nice hot soak.
ReplyDeleteThe important thing is that you both got out and got some exercise. You are a better woman than I. Rain is the perfect excuse to stay inside with a nice cup of hot tea and a blanket--at least this time of year.
Sometimes bargains on eBay are winners and sometimes not. Guess you got a "not." Hope it didn't set you back too much.
I hav hunting as an incentive though Jean, you are excused :-)
