All the rain stopped the farmers getting the hay and silage in Jean, and we can't cross the land until it's done. There is a sort-of hunt going from nearby with hounds and some jumps with the other hunt that I don't subscribe to any more and I'll be out with them unless it's pouring with rain.
There is less than half the harvest in around here, and the ground is so wet that the goind would be "holding and deep" - not good for galloping and jumping. I haven't even been riding in the stubble fields as my horse's hooves sink into the ground at every step.
Sickening isn't it? It is going to be one of the wettest summers ever, although since there was a shortage of rain earlier on, I expect that it will end up as "average" overall.
What happened??? Bad weather? Footing? Other issues?
ReplyDeleteMaybe a farm ride to go on instead? Sending wishes for an alternate outing.
Just go for a good hair raising gallop on a hillside close by - that will lift your spirits!
