It's blowing a gale this morning so I am off to rummage in the Derby House store at Matlock. It's a lovely cross country run of just over an hour, and it will take SH's mind off the appointment that we have with the consultant at 8.30 this evening (yes, that's right!) They have made Matlock (a warehouse on an industrial estate - not exactly chic like their flagship store off the M6 is) into their "outlet" store, for all the end of ranges that they want to get rid of cheap. Could be an expensive morning - following your lead Jean!
I hope to ride later but I'm not taking Ace out in this wind. I also hope to have a date for Allan's op this evening, but both hopes might be one step too far ........
I am jealous you live so close to Derby House and an outlet store to boot urgh I am green.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with Alan.
A
HOpe by now you have anjoyed your shopping trip!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, it's getting on time for Allan'a appointment, so I hope that's going well too. IT would be nice to get his procedure scheduled and ready to go!
Sending good wishes again.
Uhm.....Enjoyed....working with a difficult pair of glasses at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI managed to spend £60 of my friend's money on two rugs, but didn't find anything for myself, which was disappointing.
ReplyDeleteAnne, when Allan is under the knife my friend is taking me to Robinsons AND Derby House main store, which are only ten minutes apart and both have cafes too :-)
I rode Ace and Jazz this afternoon. For a baby who hasn't been ridden for days taken out in a very blustery wind, Ace was excellent. And Jazz is almost turning into a hack!!!
News on the operation is estimated 2 weeks to meet the surgeon, 2 weeks to the op. So hopefully a maximum of another month to wait ......

ReplyDeleteI can confess here that I have spent a huge amount of money on Tetley this past month. His hock injections, spring shots, and a check a week later on his hocks were all about $625 (£380). Then I ordered some very expensive dressage (brushing) boots -" thin line" for about $200 total. They have a breathable lining that when warmed conforms to the shape of the horse's leg. Then some other stuff for about the same amount. So you see Caroline you are not nearly as bad as me.
ReplyDeleteA month! Yes, that's a wait that's bearable.
Fantastic that Ace was good in the wind - very sensible of him.
Just catching up, doing waking nights at the moment and surviving on 2hrs sleep, I just cant get to grips with sleeping through the day!
ReplyDeleteAt least there's an end in sight to all this waiting..we will all be wishing for a quick recovery for Allan x
Lots of good things happening with your gang at least, Ace sounds like a star:-)
I need to pick you brains Caroline re feet etc, having a horrible time with Ali's
they box rest and time off has done them no favours.
Would it be ok if I email you & poss send you some pics ...when I get a minute obviously :-)
Course you can Nicola, I'd be glad to look. Jazz's changed a lot when I stopped hacking him over the winter - not for the better either!
ReplyDeleteML, I think "spoilt" is a word that comes to mind, but he's difficult to spoil because he always seem so "jolly grateful" (terribly English!!) for anything you do for him, doesn't he?
Off outside to ride now, not letting myself off another day!!
